The Classic Barn Home model, Classic Studio 3, is one of our most asked about timber frame floor plans. What draws people to this timber frame model is its energy efficient size of 965 sq. ft. and because this small space feels much larger due to its open layout. We designed this home to appeal to those that want to build a smaller timber frame retirement home, guest house, timber frame vacation home or use the design as a addition. This home has many of the traditional elements that you will find in a timber frame home including: cathedral ceilings, open floor plan and a wall of windows in the great room to maximize the natural light.
The first floor offers an open layout with a 20x20 great room. This large space can be used primarily as a timber frame great room or has plenty of space to include a dining area. Timber frames are known to have open spaces with a great room, dining room and kitchen flowing together. Off of the great room space is a kitchen and a full sized bathroom. The second floor offers a spacious bedroom and is open to the space below.
