Many of us here at Davis Frame dream of building our own timber frame home and for a few of us here it has become a reality. Nick Nash, one of Davis Frame Company's timber framers purchased 6 acres of land a couple of years ago in hopes of building a timber frame someday. Last summer, Nick and his girlfriend Angela started the construction process for their new timber frame home. Nick is the third employee to build a Davis Timber Frame over the past few years. Like many of our clients, Nick went through the design process and the tough decisions on what materials to select to build his new home. He chose one of our pre-designed Classic Barn models, the Classic Studio 3 and modified it to suit his needs. This spring, Nick, Angela and their dog Pilot moved into their timber frame after a little less than a year of construction. Although there are a few more things to do to the home, the homeowners are happy to call their new timber frame home!

The Classic Studio 3 offers a lot of living in a modest space. A wall of windows in the cathedral-ceiling great room and two sets of French doors with sidelights provide plenty of light brings a sense of the outdoors inside. A timber collar tie spans the great room, providing visual interest. A full bath is tucked away between the stairs and kitchen. This timber frame floor plan Nick chose is a great size for a starter home and the design of the home offers flexibility to add an addition in a few years if they choose.
