Timber Frame Floor Plan Feature: Classic Barn 5

Classic Barn 5 from our line of barn style homes is a perfect sized timber frame floor plan. The floor plan features 1,934 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It feels spacious with its open first floor plan and has plenty of room for your family or to entertain guests. A wide roofed porch shelters the entrance to this simple and classic design. The porch is perfect to enjoy beautiful summer and fall evenings!

The first floor offers an open layout with the kitchen, dining room, living room and office being open to one another. A half bath also is located on the first floor.

Two bedrooms, full bath and master bedroom with full ensuite bath are nestled above an open first floor featuring an adjacent kitchen and dining room, large living room, half bath and an office.

Update on Vermont Conventional Home Using Timber Frame Accents

Our shop guys finished working on a special project for a new conventional home being built in Vermont. The homeowner's wanted to grace their 25'X30' great room with timber frame accents. Three beautiful timber frame trusses were designed by the homeowner's architect and our in-house design team. Adding timber frame accents to any new or existing home can add warmth and create the comfort of a timber frame home without it being full of timbers.

The trusses were handcrafted and assembled in our shop. For aesthetics, the trusses feature an inch and a quarter steel rod on the bottom of the truss. With the trusses being pre-assembled in the shop, we can control the fit of the joinery and ensure a tight fit. Also, this cuts down on time on the jobsite for the builder. Davis Frame also provided timber frame accent pieces for the new home's porch.

The timber frame trusses were shipped out and our timber frame road crew worked all week at the Vermont home to raise the timbers. Our road crew is working side by side with the custom home builder of this project to ensure the timber frame truss installation goes smoothly.
