Timber Frame Floor Plan: Classic Barn 2

Barn home floor planOur line of Classic Barn Homes has become extremely popular over the years. It is no wonder due to their beauty and resemblance to traditional barn structures. Classic Barn 2 offers the choice to add a cupola to the home which gives the barn home more of a barn look. The floor plan was also designed to suit the needs of those of us in these modern times and features an open first floor plan. This timber frame floor plan is notably a favorite!

Barn Home Plan 1The first floor features a large timber frame great room that opens up into the kitchen and dining room making this home perfect for entertaining and creating a comfortable living space. The first floor also includes two bedrooms and a full bathroom.
Barn Home Plan 2
The Master Bedroom suite is found on the second floor. This is not just any master bedroom as it larger than most Master Bedrooms and also has a balcony right off the bedroom that can be used as an office or to place a vanity. Since this floor plan offers flexibility, you could easily take the Master Bedroom and convert it into two bedrooms and place the Master Bedroom on the first floor. There are many ways to change this floor plan.

Barn Home Plan 3
The timber frame loft is a bonus addition to this floor plan. The second floor is designed to have a ship ladder leading up to this space. The space overlooks the floors below and also has great lighting with the light that comes in from the cupola. This loft space makes for a perfect getaway in your own home.

New York Timber Frame Home

upstate new york timber frame A view of the front of the home during the SIPs panel installation.

A Davis Frame client in New York, built a home from our line of Classic Barn Homes last year and was kind enough to share some photos of his project. The floor plan the couple chose was our Classic Homestead 1 which has become increasingly popular among many of our clients over the years. The simple and efficient floor plan is appealing to many. The floor plan offers flexibility with the layout and can be easily increased or decreased in size.

The original floor plan for Classic Homestead 1A features 1,764 square feet with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The first floor plan offers an open layout with the great room, dining room and kitchen creating a great open space perfect for entertaining during the holidays.

The homeowners of the below Homestead timber frame, modified the floor plan to suit their needs. They rotated the first floor plan layout and added a sun porch as well as a laundry room. The loft was also extended on the second floor to create larger bedrooms. With the addition of the sun porch, another 200 square feet of space was added to the overall floor plan.

Pennsylvania Barn Style Timber Frame Home

timber frame in pennsylvania
The Classic Homestead 1A model is one of our most popular floor plans from our line of Barn Style Homes. This pre-designed floor plan was used to build this new Pennsylvania Davis timber frame home. The property had an existing garage with living space above and the homeowners decided it was time to build their main home to connect to the existing structure. The timber frame raising began this summer and this fall the exterior shell was complete. The interior of the home is now being worked on, so check back for finished photos of this beautiful timber frame home!

This modified Classic Homestead 1A features an open concept great room, dining room and kitchen. The open space allows for the homeowners to entertain without feeling crowded. The first floor also includes a master suite as well as a mudroom and half bath.

The second floor includes two spacious bedrooms, a full bath and a beautiful loft that overlooks the first floor of the home. The loft will allow the homeowners to relax and enjoy the timber frame from above. A connector will attach to the new home to the existing second floor garage allowing for additional space for future rooms.
