The timber frame addition was designed and built to display the homeowner's many art collections. That is one seriously beautiful piece of construction! Wood has never been big in South Africa, but a recent trend towards wooden decking and platforms, and coastal cabins.
Researching construction of these is what first led to me finding your blog. My eyes have been opened as to the versatility and beauty of wooden construction.
